I was inspired to enter the Wealth Management profession after a presentation in one of my college courses by a financial advisor. In that presentation, I learned how an advisor was able to help families plan for their future and help them navigate life’s financial challenges. I was hooked. I knew exactly what I was going to do for the rest of my career.
To that end, I have served in a variety of roles, helping clients plan and prepare for their dreams. Those roles ranged from advisor, a private banker, a portfolio manager, a leadership roles, while working at two major banks. I have continued to develop my skills, earning the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor and Certified Financial Planner designations. I have always embraced change and innovation and continue to hone my business management, advising, coaching, mentoring and leadership skills.
Having my wife Lisa and daughter Katie now involved in the business of PostRock Partners has been an incredibly rewarding experience. At PostRock Partners, “Our family serving your family” is more than just a slogan.

With over 30 years of experience in the investment business, I have had the privilege to lead and participate in developing firm-wide asset allocation strategies, strategic and tactical investment strategies as well as managing individual client and institutional portfolios. While I have served in many roles within the capital markets, including Regional Investment Director, Managing Director of Investments, and Senior Investment Strategist for a prominent national financial firm, I have always been directly involved in advising investors, the last two decades of which managing very large portfolios for complex families as a Senior Portfolio Manager.
We founded PostRock Partners with the aim of assembling a team committed to steadfast adherence to foundational principles. We’ve seen the impact on families when a publicly traded company chooses the pursuit of profits over the genuine well-being of clients, and it became apparent that policies and procedures were often more geared toward safeguarding financial institutions’ interests rather than truly serving investors. At PostRock Partners, we’re committed to rebuilding those foundational values that prioritize our client families above all else. We’ve chosen to be guided by unwavering principles, allowing us to focus on the success of the families we serve, not the latest investment or social fads.
Outside of PostRock Partners I enjoy time with my family, cooking with my wife Michelle, flying my plane and building my next plane in our garage.
I earned a B.S. Finance, Kansas State University in 1992 and my CFA Charter in 2003.
My passion is helping families plan their future for generations by providing comprehensive wealth management strategies uniquely tailored to them. We work closely with our client’s entire advisor team, such as attorneys, accountants and risk management/insurance professionals to provide solutions that are comprehensive and interconnected.
The satisfaction of helping to guide multiple generations of families is what drives me on a daily basis and has for the last 25+ years. Prior to PostRock Partners, I held various roles as an advisor, team leader, manager, market leader, and national executive while working at Trust Companies and National Banks. Through my own 30-year family farming experience, I have also developed expertise in farm management, specializing in multi-generational family farm activities including land leases, cash crops, landlord-tenant, and estate planning.
I grew up with a mother as an educator and counselor and a father who was in wealth management. So, in many ways, I was born into the business and learned the value of planning, advice and coaching clients at a young age.
With a BS in Accounting and Finance, I have enjoyed roles in public tax, learning the value of tax advice for successful families, all the way to loan servicing, understanding the importance of quality control and client relations. All of which have allowed me to hone in on what I enjoy most, which is, providing exceptional client service while ensuring utmost satisfaction. My dedication to delivering top-notch service has allowed me to build strong relationships with clients, which has carried into my role here at PostRock Partners.
Michelle brings to PostRock Partners more than 20 years’ experience working with C-Suite executives in a complex regulatory landscape within a regional hospital. In addition to serving as executive assistant to three CEOs and other top executives, she led a department charged with licensure and credentialing of professional staff and demonstrated a mastery of regulations and risk mitigation. We rely on her project coordination, attention to detail and organizational skills to drive efficient workflows, processes and policies.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and son, is an amateur musician formerly with a local brass brand, and looks forward to every opportunity to practice riding dressage.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Kansas State University in 1993.
I have enjoyed a career in education and counseling because of the opportunities to help families learn, work together and be successful. I enjoy helping them work through challenges and improve their communication skills.
Lisa leverages her extensive expertise, along with our team at PostRock Partners, to develop educational materials to prepare future generations for financial and family success. Lisa has a BS in Education, a Masters in Counseling and a Masters in Reading Education.
